Early Life and Career

Born on November 4, 1994, in Vallejo, California, Willie Calhoun is of African-American and Filipino descent.

In 2015, the Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Willie Calhoun in the 4th round of the MLB draft. He quickly made a name for himself in the Dodgers’ minor league system, where he displayed his impressive batting skills.

In 2017, Calhoun made his Major League Baseball debut with the Texas Rangers, where he played until 2022.

In December 2022, Calhoun signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees organization. He participated in the Yankees’ spring training and was sent to Wilkes-Barre RailRiders/Triple-A Scranton to begin the 2023 season. He was then chosen for the active roster on April 8, 2023.
