Our coverage of the 37th Gémeaux Awards Gala has come to an end. The evening continues on ICI ARTV with the after-gala, hosted by Jean-Sébastien Girard and Isabelle Racicot.
Quebec television viewers have spoken: it’s Live from the universe which won the Cogeco Fund audience award for its 13th season, already crowned best variety or performing arts series. The prize was announced by Jean-Sébastien Girard and Isabelle Racicot, who will lead the after-gala on ICI Artv.

The Gemini Award for Best Male Lead in a Drama Series goes to Luc Picard, who plays the character of ethics professor Denis Théberge in One way ticket.

Sandrine Bisson, who slipped into the skin of Elisabeth, a widow who inherited a farm in spite of herself in the series raspberry time, is crowned in the category Best Female Lead: Drama Series.

It was Marina Orsini who won the trophy for best female lead role: annual drama series for her character Anemone Leduc, who must learn to live with early Alzheimer’s in Another story.

The Gémeaux prize for best male lead role in an annual drama series was awarded to Guy Jodoin for his character of Marc-André Bonenfant in the detective series Alerts. The actor was in the running against two of his acting colleagues in the series, Danny Gilmore and Frédéric Pierre, as well as against Émile Proux-Cloutier and Roy Dupuis.

Thursday night superhero Jean-René Dufort is awarded the statuette for best animation: humor for the end-of-year show Infoman 2021.

This is the fourth trophy for the special, which also won the prize for best humorous special, as well as those for best research and best editing (humor, variety, all categories) this year.
The team ofInfoman also won Best Comedy Series for its 22nd season.
Jean-René Dufort and Chantal Lamarre offered their thanks from London, where they are to cover the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which will be held on Monday.
The distinction for best leading role in a program or series produced for digital media: comedy was awarded to Rosalie Vaillancourt and her character Allison in the series Completely high school. She is also the creator of the show with Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais.
This category was gender-neutral, a first in Gemini’s long history.

After the number of her colleagues Rita Baga, Mona de Grenoble and Barbada, she is the queen of the 3rd season of Canada’s Drag RaceGisèle Lullaby, who awarded France Beaudoin the Gémeaux prize for best animation: variety series or special for New Year’s Day Livein which Anne-Élisabeth Bossé, Michel Rivard, Stéphane Rousseau and Dave Morissette took part.
Many artistic personalities took part in the program “Live du jour de l’an”, in particular Patsy Gallant and Marie-Mai.

The show also won the trophy for Best Variety or Performing Arts Special. Live from the universe won top honors in the Best Variety Series or Performing Arts category.
