sArsenal vs Nottingham Forest live: Premier League score and latest updates

Arsenal face Nottingham Forest in the first of two Sunday Premier League games this afternoon, while the Gunners look set to return to the top of the league table after Manchester City took three points at Leicester yesterday.

This is a second game against bottom, but Steve Cooper’s side have shown promise of a turnaround in form since the 4-0 drubbing by Leicester on October 3, taking a remarkable win over Liverpool last weekend.

Arsenal on the other hand. have come to a screeching halt after one of their best starts to a Premier League season: they drew against Southampton last weekend and suffered a remorseful 2-0 loss to PSV in the Europa League on Thursday in one of their worst performances of the season.

Gabriel Jesus has not scored in six games – having scored five in his first eight – and Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his concern that his side have only scored four goals in their last five games in all competitions.

“Obviously, that streak of lack of goals has to come to an end in order to win more games, that’s for sure.”

“Training is very limited, but sometimes there are a lot of mental things you can work on and then talk about experiences they’ve had,” he said.

“It’s not the first time Eddie or Gabi have played five games without scoring a goal in their career. That happens to every striker I know and they deal with it, it’s part of their job.”

The Gunners suddenly need a ride. Arteta said on Thursday after the defeat: “I am very disappointed. It is the end of a long series in which we have won many games and today is our first defeat (since the beginning of September) and we have to reset.”

“We are disappointed tonight, but there is no time to feel sorry for ourselves. We have to react. We have a very important game on Sunday and then we look at Zurich.”
