The Powerball jackpot rolled to $1 billion after last Saturday night’s draw produced no grand prize winners. The game has since had two more draws with no jackpot winner. It’s only the second time that Powerball has hit the $1 billion mark. The previous biggest jackpot prize of $1.586 billion was won on January 13, 2016.

“This Powerball game delivers exactly what our players want,” said Drew Svitko, executive director of the Pennsylvania Lottery. “We are witnessing history in the making with this $1.6 billion jackpot! What’s also exciting is that this run has already produced millions of winners, including nearly 100 players who have won prizes worth $1 million or more .”

The last Powerball jackpot was won in Pennsylvania and Svitko added that the game is a form of entertainment.

“There is a lot of anticipation and excitement leading up to Saturday’s draw,” Svitko noted. “We want to remind players that it only takes one ticket to win. Please play responsibly.”

Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot on 11/22/05 is worth $1.6 billion, with a cash option worth $782.4 million. The total jackpot may increase depending on the number of tickets sold across the country before the draw.

The winning numbers on Wednesday (11/02/22) for the $1.2 billion jackpot were: 11/22/35-60 with a Powerball of 23. The Power Play was 2x.

There was no grand prize winner on Wednesday, but a whopping 19 tickets were sold that matched the first five white balls, and minus the red Powerball, for the game’s second prize. Three of those tickets, sold in Arizona, Montana and New Jersey, are worth $2 million each since they bought the Power Play for an additional $1. The other 16 tickets are worth $1 million each. They were sold in Arizona, California (2), Colorado, Georgia (2), Maryland (2), Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey (2), New York, Oregon, Texas and Virginia.

In addition, an additional 49 tickets were sold nationwide that won at least $100,000, and a further 189 tickets that reached a profit of $50,000

It was the fourth largest jackpot in the game’s history. The previous winning ticket was sold back on August 12, 2020 for a jackpot worth $169 million. That ticket was sold in Florida.

Normally the game would be reset to a minimum of $40 million, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced Powerball officials to halve the minimum jackpot, which started with the 04/11/20 jackpot.

The previous winning ticket was sold on June 10, 2020. The previous winning ticket was purchased in New Jersey for the 04/08/20 jackpot worth $190 million. The previous top prize won for that was $70 million in the 02/12/20 drawing with a ticket purchased in Michigan. The main prize winner for this was on 29/01/20. That ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Bonita Springs, Florida, for the top prize of $394 million, which had a $274.6 million cash option.

The odds of winning the top prize jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338, regardless of the size of the jackpot, according to Powerball’s website.

Powerball is a multi-state lottery played every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and one of America’s two biggest lottery jackpot games. Powerball jackpots start at $20 million and other prizes are paid out from $1 million to $2 million with a Power Play. Tickets are $2. You can check tonight’s numbers, or previous winning numbers, on the official Powerball website.

There are nine ways to win money during the Powerball. Just getting the Powerball with no other numbers will get you $4, and even more if the powerball is bought for an extra dollar. The same payout is for one ball plus the Powerball, and $7 is the payout for two correct numbers with the Powerball, or three correct numbers and no Powerball.

If all five white numbered balls are chosen, but the red Powerball is incorrect, the payout is $1 million, with an even higher payout if the power play is chosen.

The other multi-state lottery is Mega Millions, which is played on Tuesdays and Fridays. Like Powerball, the jackpot resets to $20 million after a jackpot is won, and a line of numbers is $2, with a $1 option to multiply their winnings by a Megaplier. Here is the Mega Millions website for more information or to check any previous numbers.

Saturday night we will post the Powerball 11/05/22 draw payouts and tell if there was a winner and where that winner came from, if so.
