Pop singer Aaron Carter, younger brother of Backstreet Boys member, dies aged 34 UKTN News

Aaron Carter, the singer-rapper who started performing as a child and had been making albums since his teens, was found dead Saturday at his Southern California home. He was 34.

Representatives of Carter’s family confirmed the death of the singer. They did not immediately comment further.

Carter, the younger brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, opened for Britney Spears and his brother’s boy band, and appeared on the family’s reality series. Carter’s house, which aired on E! Entertainment Television.

Deputies responded around 11 a.m. local time to reports of a medical emergency at the Lancaster home, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Alejandra Parra said.

Parra said officers found a deceased person in the home, but she could not immediately confirm it was Carter.

Carter’s fiancée, Melanie Martin, asked for privacy while the family grieves.

“We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality,” Martin said in a statement on Saturday. “Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.”

Carter’s 2000 album Aaron’s party (come and get it) sold three million copies and produced hit singles, including the title song and I want candy. His videos were regularly broadcast on Disney and Nickelodeon.

In 2009, Carter appeared on the UKTN competition show Dancing with the starsfinished in fifth place with partner Karina Smirnoff.

Carter’s fifth and final studio album, LOVEwas released in 2018.
