Gunmen abduct IMT student in Enugu

A student of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, identified as Stanley Ogwo has been reportedly kidnapped.

Stanley, son of a Radio presenter with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Godwin Ogwo, was kidnapped Thursday on his way to school from his Emene residence.

Ogwo, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, said that his son was in National Diploma II final.

Although details of his son’s abduction were still sketchy, he, however, stated that the available information is that his son was abducted in a commercial bus he boarded to school.

The staff of Radio Nigeria Enugu said the bandits contacted him through his son’s handset.

“They merely asked if we are ready to comply; I was confused and I switched off the phone,” he said.

Ogwo, however, noted that abductors were yet to make their demand.

We’ve been talking with them and they have said they want money but have yet to name the amount,” he said.
