Electoral offenses eligible voters must avoid during presidential, other Nigeria’s elections


Ahead of the February 25, 2023, general elections, these are the offenses an electorate must abstain from during the electioneering periods.

See list below:

  1. Canvassing for votes
  2. Persuading any voter not to vote for any particular candidate
  3. Shouting slogans concerning the election
  4. Have any offensive weapon
  5. Exhibit, wear or tender any notice, symbol, photographs or party card referring to the elections
  6. Loiter without lawful execuse after voting or after being refused to vote
  7. Snatch or destroy any election material
  8. Convene, hold or attend any public meetings during the hours of the polls as may be prescribed.
