Women entrepreneurs empowered with over N500m facility

Over five million Nigerian women entrepreneurs have so far benefited from over N500 million facility put in place by the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWEN) to boost their businesses.

ANWEN in collaboration with Unity Bank had put the facility in place to enable beneficiaries to get soft loans, ranging from N100,000 to N5 million each at single-digit interest rates.

The National Coordinator of ANWEN, Ajala Angela, disclosed this, yesterday, at the International Women’s Day 2024 Inspire Induction celebration held in Abuja.

The celebration was themed, ‘Building Sustainable Entrepreneurial and Financial Skills for Women in Challenging Times’.

Angela said that the association, made of 66 different bodies across the country, is vital to creating and addressing major challenges business and professional women face.

She listed notable achievements of the association including the production and implementation of the Women National Business Agenda, the inauguration of advocacy teams in all the 36 states of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), granting access to credit at single-digit interest rates as well as free credit for health payment plan for members and their families.
