•Insists Their Show Of Support For Tinubu Mischievous, Hypocritical
The All Progressives Congress (APC) would shut the doors to the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus from defecting to the party.
The Caretaker chairman of the Rivers State chapter, Chief Tony Okocha dropped the hint at a press conference at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.
Secondus, alongside a former Minister of Transportation and the Director-General, PDP-PCC Rivers State, Dr. Abiye Sekibo; former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Austin Opara; Celestine Omehia, former deputy governor of the state; Tele Ikuru, Senator Lee Maeba, and former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson among others hinted of defecting to the APC on Thursday after declaring loyalty and support for President Bola Tinubu and the state governor, SiminalayiFubara.
Okocha, a loyalist of the Minister of the Federal CapitalTterritory (FCT), Mr.NyesomWike insisted that the show of support for Tinubu by the aforementioned chieftains of the PDP was clearly mischievous and hypocritical.
Recalling how they poured all manner of invectives and insults on the person ofTinubu in the build up to the presidential poll, he accused them of emboldening Governor SimilayeFubara to disrespect President Tinubu by refusing to implement all the indices on the 8~point presidential proclamation,as panacea to the political crisis in Rivers State.
The APC chieftain, who insisted that Wike is still a member of the PDPcontended that no sane host would tolerate a guest who attempts to enter his/her house, through the window when the door is open.
He noted: “Why do they want to further insult Mr. President and APC by telling him that heas leader of APC appointed a kleptocrat into his cabinet as minister? When have they repented and withdrawn their suits in court, challenging the powers of Mr. President to mediate in the political crisis in Rivers State?
“If they have respect for Mr. President as they mouthed it, why would they publicly condemn and refer to as illegal, a proper assembly made up of 27 members out of now 30.”
