NIM Osun State branch gets third chairman, other executives

The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Osun State branch has elected Dr. Olu Olujide as its third chairman.

He was elected along with Pharm. Collins Olawale Olonade as branch Secretary and Olanike Akintola as Treasurer.

Other members of the executive include Lydia Olawale, Publicity Secretary; Alhaji Olatunde Bello, Ex-Officio 1; and Elder Sanya Olopade as Ex-Officio 2. 

The election of the new officers, which took place during the Annual General Meeting of the branch at its secretariat, located at Dada Estate, Osogbo, the state capital, is in accordance with the extant law of the institute following the completion of the tenure of the immediate past officers led by Alhaji Olatunde Bello. 

The immediate past branch chairman presented the account of stewardship for the branch for four years between 2019 and 2023.

Bello expressed gratitude to the pioneer branch chairman, who was also past South-West Chairman, Elder Sanya Olopade, for his support and unrelenting efforts to ensure that NIM is an institute to be reckoned with in the State. 

He also extended his appreciation to the members of Osun State College of Fellows under the leadership of Dr. Musibau Adelasoye as well as all the chapters chairmen and professional managers.

While speaking, the Zonal Chairman, Ebun Atinuke, congratulated the past chairman for his numerous achievements and urged the new helmsman to always consult widely among stakeholders. 

The Zonal Chairman assured the newly elected branch officers the full support of the Zone.

In his remarks, Dr. Olujide promised to run an open administration to deliver on his agenda to move the branch forward. 

The new Chairman thanked God for the opportunity bestowed on him to lead the Institute in Osun State for the next two years. 

He expressed gratitude to his predecessor for his zeal in membership drive and prayed for him that he will continue to be relevant.

He used the opportunity to solicit for support of other executive council members, adding that he is confident of their competence as reflected in the way they are leading each chapter.

He thanked the Zonal Chairman and Olopade for finding time to attend the event. 

He equally appreciated Funso Ojo, the immediate Branch Secretary as well as immediate Zonal Vice Chairman for his tenacity.

Olujide is a Nigerian chartered management practitioner with over 15 years of leadership experience in programme design, implementation and evaluation of social, heath, enterprise and human capacity development in Nigeria.

He holds Doctorate Degrees (PhD) in Entrepreneurship and Management; three Master degrees each in Management (MSc), Business Administration (MBA) and Public Administration (MPA); four bachelor degrees each in: Educational Management, Accounting, Business Administration and Management

In addition, he holds a national diploma and higher national diploma in Accountancy. 

He had his primary and secondary education at The Apostolic Primary School, Igbaye, Ilesa and Obokun High School, Ilesa, both in Osun State.

Dr. Olujide, an accredited Management Trainer by the Nigerian Council for Management Development, is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration, Nigeria; Fellow, International Board of Quality Standards, Dominica; Fellow, Institute of Chartered Professionals (Management), Dominica; Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants Nigeria; Fellow, International Council of Management Consulting Institute, Switzerland; Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered); Member, Academy of Management Nigeria; Member, Africa Academy of Management Ghana; and Member, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.

He has achieved a good standing in the development programmes funded and coordinated by the World Bank, Global Fund, SAB Miller, AbInBev Group, American Jewish World Service, United States Agency for International Development, and National Agency for the Control of AIDS, Abuja.

Dr. Olujide sits on the board of the following organisations: Ilesa Business School; Better Life for Africa Development (NGO); St John Consulting Limited; Apple March International Limited; and Ibolda Health International Limited.

He is currently the President, Osun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture; Vice President, Odua Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture; Member, Osun State Food Security Committee; Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Ilesa Chapter; and immediate Past President of Rotary Club of Ilesa Metropolitan.

In recognition and appreciation of his professional services in the development of youth led small businesses across West Africa, the University Council of Poma University, Benin Republic honoured him with a Doctor of Business Administration (honoris causa) in December 2021.
