Heirs Technologies has expressed readiness to make Nigeria a leading Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) destination in Africa.
In addition to positioning Nigeria as a leading outsourcing destination, Heirs Technologies said it is positioned to provide end–to–end business solutions that leverage technology for global clients across the entire software life cycle: consulting, design, development, re–engineering, maintenance, system integration, package evaluation and implementation.
Speaking in Lagos at a media parley, Heirs Technologies management team, said the firm, which is a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings was founded in 2004 and officially commenced operations in January 2024, has positioned itself as a forward-thinking technology company with three core business areas including IT Consulting, Managed Services and BPO.
The Managing Director/CEO, Obong Idiong, said Heirs Technologies adopts a people-centric and customer-focused approach, saying the firm aims to provide value beyond transactions by addressing clients’s challenges with specific, tailored solutions.
“There are a lot of opportunities, and we want to be part of that. We are looking for emerging technologies. We are going to train young Nigerians,” says Idiong.
Idiong added that the company will enable small businesses, which need technology to grow their business.
Speaking on local content development, the MD/CEO said Heirs Technologies was looking at multiple strategies to deepen indigenous operations.
“If you look at the fintech space in Nigeria, we are doing a lot. We have local solutions that address some of the challenges in that space. We are looking at what we can do differently. We are trying to substitute foreign providers with our local providers in Nigeria.
“Heirs Technologies is not here to do things that others are doing. We want to build something that will change the game and add value to businesses,” he stated.
He added that Heirs was focusing on enabling local and multinational companies through local solutions.
Idiong said Heirs had plans to supervise talents that understood the business landscape.
“We are also establishing clear business ethics and transparency in communication of business operations and implementing sustainable practices, reduce waste and promote energy efficiency,” Idiong stated.
Speaking more on the BPO, Executive Director at Heirs Technologies, Anant Hao, said the firm is thinking differently with a focus on creating a global destination hub for Nigeria.
“We are looking to build the best infrastructure. Africa is the next destination,” said Hao.
On her part, the Chairperson, Dr. Fumbi Chima, said a central pillar of Heirs Technologies’s strategy is nurturing the next generation of Africa’s tech talent.
Chima described the training institute named iAcademy as the ‘heart and soul,’ which offers programmes designed to equip young Nigerians with the necessary skills to excel in the tech industry.
“iAcademy has trained 30 youths and has a budget to train 75 to 100 people this year. The academy focuses on empowering young Africans with the skills required to support global solutions from companies like IBM and Oracle. Presently, they have eight Nigerians undergoing training abroad to become the providers of such solutions. The core focus is on building competencies and skills for IT-managed services, making businesses more efficient and cost-effective,” she stated.
